DAY 2 : Day 2: Marrakech Exploration, Majorelle Garden, and Jemaa el-Fnaa
4 Day Magical Marrakech : Wonder, Wellness & Discovery
Wake up to the sound of the call to prayer echoing across the medina, acting as your alarm for the exciting day ahead. Enjoy a steamed shower and breakfast on the rooftop of your riad. Your local guide will then take you on an exciting tour to navigate the medina’s layout and share captivating stories about its history and culture. Here, you will notice an array of small stalls displaying their goods and crafts. Marrakech is a treasure trove full of historical landmarks and architectural marvels. Our first site is the 19th-century Bahia Palace. This opulent palace showcases intricate woodwork, stunning mosaics, and lush gardens. Next, the towering minaret of the 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque can be seen from afar.
After exploring the iconic Bahia Palace and wandering through the mesmerizing labyrinth of the medina, we arrive at the Majorelle Garden, tucked away in the new city. It is a lush oasis with over 300 types of exotic plants, fountains, and the stunning cobalt blue buildings that were once the home of French painter Jacques Majorelle. The garden, later owned by Yves Saint Laurent, is a serene place to reflect and soak in the beauty of nature. Venture deeper into the Berber Museum, which depicts Morocco’s enduring artistic heritage.
In the afternoon, you are free to explore Marrakech at your own pace. Perhaps you’ll bargain with local vendors and connect with the locals, watch artisans craft everything from leather goods to lanterns, or simply relax back at your riad.
As the crimson hues of the sunset yield to the inky darkness of night, Marrakech undergoes a transformation. One of the most captivating experiences is the call to prayer echoing from the medina minarets, casting a serene and beautiful atmosphere over Jemaa el-Fnaa, which turns into a vibrant carnival of storytellers, dancers, and more. Enjoy some delicious Moroccan cuisine at one of the nearby restaurants.
