Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Marrakech. This morning we will go on deeper into the central High Atlas Mountains, making your first stop at the 7,400-foot Tizi n’Tichka Pass. In Skoura, explore the Kasbah Amridil, built in the 17th century and later restored. This awe-inspiring fortress offers insights into the history of southern Morocco and is a hallmark of adobe Moorish architecture. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at a charming guesthouse surrounded by palm trees.
After breakfast, take a short walk around the palmerie and catch a hint of the region's 1,000 kasbahs. Depart Skoura and continue through the Dades Valley, where the air is filled with the fragrance of roses, especially during the Rose Festival in spring.
Next, arrive at the prehistoric canyons of Todra Gorges, carved by the Todgha River over centuries.
Visit one of the highlights of our trip as you arrive at Ksar Al Khorbat in Tinejdad, a beautifully restored kasbah housing a museum dedicated to the region's history and culture. Enjoy lunch with local women who will happily serve you in their cooperative.
Proceed to the heart of the Sahara Desert. Enjoy a camel trek at sunset and a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars before spending the night in a well-equipped desert camp.
Waking up early would be amazing to witness the sunrise and fuel your soul. Enjoy breakfast in the camp or at a table set on one of the nearby dunes. Leave the Sahara behind and observe the diverse landscapes as you travel to Aït Benhaddou.
Upon arrival, explore the 17th-century kasbah and learn about its significant role in the caravan route. It has also served as a backdrop for numerous films worldwide. End the day with a delicious dinner and an overnight stay at a guesthouse near Aït Ben Haddou.
